Eligibility for Ph.D. Admission Test (PAT)-2022

1. Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. programme shall have a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
2. A relaxation of 5% of marks, i.e., from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, will be allowed for those belonging to SC / ST / EBC / BC / EWS / Differently- abled categories of candidates.
3. A candidate shall ordinarily be permitted to pursue research for the Ph.D. degree in the subject in which he / she holds a Master’s degree.

How to Apply for JP University PhD Admission Test (PAT) Form 2021

Step 1:

• Visit the official website of JP University i.e. jpvadmission.org
• Click on the Notification of “JPU PAT 2022 Apply Online”
• Enter the complete Details for Registration
• Upload Scanned Photograph & Signature
• Make Payment Online
• Click to final submit
• Take the print out and submit it offline by hand or registered post.

Step 2:

The applicants need to submit the application forms along with the self-attested xerox copies of the requisite documents. The hard copy of online submitted application form with all requisite documents must be submitted by hand or through registered post latest by 04.02.2023 till 4.00.PM in the office of Ph.D. section of J.P. University, Chapra, Bihar.

Procedure for Ph.D. Admission Test (PAT)-2022 & Written Test

Written test will be comprised of two papers of 100 marks each.

• Paper – I: 100 marks – Objective / Multiple Choice Questions on General and Research aptitude.
• Paper – II: 100 marks – Subjective type in the subject concerned based on Semester System syllabus (excluding elective papers) of the Post-Graduate courses of J.P.University, Chapra, Bihar.

The minimum qualifying marks for written test will be as follows:

• For General candidates: 50% Aggregate marks 
• For Reserved category candidates: 45% Aggregate marks

Availability of JPU PAT Admit Card

PAT-2022 admit card will be uploaded on university website. The copy of the admit card must be attested by the Head of the Departments / Principal of colleges last attended or by a gazette officer. It is necessary for the candidates to attest photographs, signature as well as put thumb impression in the admit card to appear at the examination.

JP University PhD Admission Test 2022 Merit List

The subject wise merit list will be prepared on a scale of 100 including marks in Master Degree; weightage on PAT / NET / BET / SLET / JRF and Interview as mentioned in the following table i.e., Maximum weightage on marks obtained in Master’s Degree Programme as 70, plus maximum weighting on PAT / NET / BET / SLET / JRF as 10, plus Interview of 20 marks.

Candidates will be selected following the prescribed Reservation rules of Bihar Government.

JPU PAT-2022 Results

PAT-2022 Result will be published on the University official website. The result should be checked by the candidate from the personal login account. It is expected that result will be uploaded within a month after completion of exam. The result will be published in terms of overall Merit-Rank and Category Rank obtained by the candidate.
